HADCA's service centre in Howick West opens its doors three days per week for the elderly in that area. There is transport laid on for those who need it, and at the centre the members are kept busy with crafts, and games, and they also all enjoy a nourishing midday meal.
Regular outings are undertaken, sometimes as far afield as the South and North Coast for day trips. A vital role that is filled by the service centre is the provision of meals to the indigent elderly in the outlying areas. These meals are partly subsidised by the Department of Social Services. Any old clothing, books, games and puzzles are gratefully accepted by the service centre.
These are passed on to the needy. A free clinic is held at the service centre once a month.
